MULTILATERALISM IN PRACTICE  ·  JOIN THE CAMPAIGN

TAKE PART

Sign, submit, host, fund, review

Association with the campaign is support for the search for solutions. It does not constitute endorsement of any proposal: partners receive the final reports and are free to countersign or not.

MODES OF PARTICIPATION

FIVE WAYS TO TAKE PART

01

SIGN

Sign the plea in support of the search for solutions. Signing does not commit anyone to the solutions that will be found.

02

SUBMIT

Send a proposal on one of the three cycle questions. Selected authors are credited as collaborators on the report.

03

HOST AND ORGANISE

Host a cycle, co-organise a panel, or take part in organising the discussions.

04

FUND

Finance a cycle conference or part of it, as a patron.

05

REVIEW

Join the Scientific Council, which validates every draft before publication.

FOR INSTITUTIONS

PARTNER TIERS

Universities, research centres, foundations, international and regional organizations, missions and media are recognised according to the role they take in the campaign.

Partner

Signs the plea and the call for proposals in support of the inquiry.

Recognition. Listed on the campaign page and in the materials of each cycle.

Associate partner

A partner that also takes an operational role: hosting a cycle, co-organising a panel, sitting on the Scientific Council, or providing media coverage.

Recognition. Named alongside the cycle it contributes to, on the programme and in the report.

Patron

Finances a cycle conference or part of it.

Recognition. Named as patron of that cycle, on the programme and in the report.

Honorary supporter

An institution of international standing that lends its name, by invitation and limited to five. It gives no funding, takes no operational role and endorses nothing in advance.

Recognition. Named in a band of its own, above the convenors, in the form it has agreed in writing.

FOR OFFICIALS AND GOVERNMENTS

HOW OFFICIALS CAN TAKE PART

Ministries, permanent missions and international organizations can engage with the campaign on terms that commit them to nothing in advance. Panels are held with participants speaking in a personal capacity.

Up to five institutions of international standing may also be invited to lend their name as honorary supporters.

SPEAK

Join a Practice Cycle panel, in a personal capacity, to test the draft against practice.

CONTRIBUTE

Share a position, data or a case, or circulate the call for proposals in your institution.

HOST

Host a cycle session or a briefing at your mission, ministry or organization.

REVIEW

Join the Scientific Council, which validates every draft before publication.

SIGN

Sign the plea, which supports the search for solutions without endorsing them in advance.

EVERY PRACTICE CYCLE

THREE RULES THAT GOVERN EVERY SESSION

1

The room does not compose, it amends.

Participants receive a validated draft in advance and react to it. Nobody is asked to write in the room.

2

Attendance commits nothing.

Participants speak in a personal capacity. Partner organizations appear as partners of the discussion, not as endorsers of its conclusions.

3

Nothing is final on the day.

The revised text circulates afterwards, and the final report is sent to every signatory to associate with or not.

WORK WITH US

PROPOSE A COLLABORATION

Universities, research centres, international and regional organizations, foundations, missions, media and individuals can join the campaign beyond signing: by hosting a Practice Cycle, co-organising a panel, financing a cycle conference, sitting on the Scientific Council or providing media coverage.

Tell us how you would like to contribute and we will come back to you to discuss the terms. You can also write directly to the convenors.
