France and the Global South: A Panel Discussion at the French Foreign Ministry
On May 6, 2025, the Paris office of the Andalus Committee, in partnership with the Diplomatic and Consular Academy (ADC) of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, had the pleasure of hosting a panel discussion at the Quai d'Orsay on a topic of growing strategic relevance: "France and the Global South In a Shifting World Order."
We had the honor of welcoming Ambassador Michel Duclos and Dr. Niagalé Bagayoko, in a conversation moderated by Didier Le Bret, Director of the ADC. Their insightful and thought-provoking dialogue challenged conventional narratives about the Global South, explored shifting geopolitical fault lines, and reflected on France’s strategic positioning in a rapidly evolving world.
A heartfelt thank you to our speakers for the depth and clarity of their reflections, and to the ADC team—Maëlle Partouche, Pascal Roos, and Bérénice Bouchaud—for their trust and tireless commitment to making this event a success. Special thanks as well to Laurent Bigot and Keyvan Sayar for their support.
Kudos to Anass Bettaieb and Lilou-Ornella d’Inca for the excellent coordination, and to all participants for contributing to such a rich discussion!
