Participation in the Conferencia Mundial AFROMADRID 2025
The Andalus Committee had the honor of participating in the Conferencia Mundial AFROMADRID 2025, held from 13 to 16 October in Madrid, a landmark gathering uniting activists, academics, and international leaders to advance recognition and reparative justice for Afro-descendant communities worldwide.
In collaboration with the Organismo Internacional de Juventud para Iberoamérica (OIJ), our delegation co-organized a Youth Workshop on October 13th at OIJ headquarters, amplifying the voices and proposals of Afro-descendant youth in Spain and across the globe.
The conference continued at the Museo Reina Sofía and the Spanish Senate, addressing key themes such as ethical and historical reparations, climate justice, and the creation of an Ibero-Afro-American System to strengthen cooperation between Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
We extend our gratitude to the AFROMADRID Secretariat and partner institutions for convening such an inspiring platform for dialogue and action. The Andalus Committee remains committed to empowering Afro-descendant communities and promoting a just, inclusive, and united global future.
