Building Bridges in Tokyo: Our Participation in the Jimmy Carter Peace Forum
The Andalus Committee was honored to join the Jimmy Carter Peace Dialogue & 2nd Asia-Pacific Peace and Development Forum, held on May 29–30, 2025, in Tokyo, Japan. Organized by The Carter Center, CF Asset Management Group, and Waseda University, the forum gathered over 70 distinguished leaders—including former Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama, former UK Ambassador to North Korea John Everard, and Lim Soo-Taek, former Chief of Staff to South Korean President Kim Young-sam.
Representing our Indo-Pacific Center, Snow Gai and Georges Collemiche engaged in thought-provoking discussions around building a more inclusive and balanced international order. Topics ranged from China–Japan–U.S. relations under the Trump administration to youth diplomacy, cross-cultural exchange, and how technology can advance sustainable peace. A highlight of the forum was the launch of the Youth Action Committee—a major step toward institutionalizing youth participation in peacebuilding, proudly spearheaded by our own Coordinator, Snow Gai.
Congratulations to Snow and Georges for their impactful work, and sincere thanks to The Carter Center for the invitation.
