Indonesia is the fastest-growing economy of Southeast Asia. Yet, its full potential is inhibited by vast inequalities in development, most notably between urban and rural areas. This report aims to address this inequality by providing recommendations for a cohesive development programme throughout the nation, anchoring it as a true economic powerhouse within the region. This report will examine the most significant factors contributing to this unevenness, namely geographic disconnect through transport, educational inequality and food insecurity. Subsequently, it will assess the opportunities within these contexts, expanding on previous initiatives to propose how this vision for inclusive economic growth can be actualised.
